"Troubled Waters" - Te Moana Nui-ō-Toi

Currently, only 1% of Te Moana Nui-ō-Toi Hauraki Gulf is under marine protection including Te Hāwere-a-Maki Goat Island Marine Reserve , Aotearoa's oldest marine protected area.



"It's not good enough. In fact, its pathetic" - Nicola Macdonald, Co-Chair of the Hauraki Gulf Forum and Acting Chief Executive of the Ngāti Manuhiri Settlement Trust.

The Ngāti Manuhiri Settlement Trust, along with members of the Hauraki Gulf Forum, hosted TVNZ's "Sunday" on a trip to Hauturu-ō-Toi Little Barrier Island.
