COVID-19 UPDATE
Tāmaki Auckland remains at Alert Level 4 whilst the rest of Aotearoa is at Alert Level 2.
The Delta variant of COVID-19 is more infectious and moves faster, so we all need to take further precautions to keep safe.
This means wearing face coverings, keeping a record of visits, and maintaining physical distance of at least 2-meters when outside the whare.
We also need to keep up our tikanga hauora, including washing our hands, coughing or sneezing into our elbows, and regularly cleaning surfaces.
If you're mauiui, please stay home. If you have cold, flu, or COVID symptoms, please call your health provider or Healthline and ask about getting tested.

The Ngāti Manuhiri Settlement Trust previously had funding support from the Ministry of Social Development but this year the criteria has changed and they are focussing more on larger iwi groups.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING:
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Ngāti Manuhiri Settlement Trust and presentation of The Annual Report for the period 2018 - 2019 will be held on:
Thursday 30 September 2021 at 6:00pm (NZ Time) online via Zoom.
To receive the Zoom link and vote on the resolutions, ALL registered members of the Ngāti Manuhiri Settlement Trust will need to pre-register before 5:00pm on Wednesday 29th September 2021, by completing the simple form below or by sending your email details to: agm@ngatimanuhiri.iwi.nz

UPDATE: DECISION ON SUBMISSIONS TO PROPOSED PLAN CHANGE 42 (PRIVATE): AUCKLAND REGIONAL LANDFILL (WAYBY VALLEY)
The Ngati Manuhiri Settlement Trust was notified on Friday that we have been successful in our application to oppose the plan change that would have made the proposed landfill an appropriate development.
Ngati Manuhiri invested significantly in this opposition and we are happy and relieved to be successful. We all need to be aware that the battle is not over as the resource consent for the landfill was granted and the Settlement Trust is opposing the consent in the Environment Court. This decision rejecting an application will be extremely helpful in terms of our opposition to become a dumping ground for Auckland.

Marine Ranger - Te Papa Atawhai, Department of Conservation
Te Papa Atawhai has 2 fixed-term Ranger positions from 15 November 2021 to 06 March 2022 roles are to be based in "Goat Island Bay" and Long Bay, the Long Bay Ranger will be required to live onsite.
The tasks include:
Welcoming visitors and advocating marine reserves
Compliance monitoring –Respond, if necessary and safe to any illegal activity or outside reports of offending
Working with other external agencies for overall compliance
Beach rubbish cleaning
Setting out footpath signs on the beach at mid-low tide to remind/educate people of the marine reserve

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST
Eke Panuku: Mana Whenua designer/artist for Waiapu Presinct
Auckland Council's Eke Panuku has identified the Waiapu Precinct as a key regeneration site with potential for mixed-use development to bring a mix of activities, enterprise, and interest into the centre of Onehunga.
The selected artist will work collaboratively with Resilio Studio to design the public realm in alignment with the masterplan key moves and integrate the cultural mapping, themes, and narratives developed with mana whenua to date.
